Tea & Cake
Pulse-pounding news for an anonymous Thursday!
First up, Appy Entertainment is delighted to participate in the Great Indie Bake Off. Sponsored by our friends at Antair Games, the Bake Off is an attempt to do a little grassroots viral marketing to support the many fine independent game studios currently creating games for Apple’s iPhone.

Gavin Bowman at Antair invited us to participate, even though we haven’t yet shipped an App, which was damn decent of him. So of course we repaid his kindness by cheating in his contest. I was all set to claim I baked this cake myself under the light bulb of an Easy Bake Oven … but I just couldn’t do it. Besides, we would have been found out. So, we fess up. We outsourced our cake to a local bakery … because while we have more than one fat bastard around the office with expertise in eating cakes, making them is another thing entirely.
We have recused ourselves from next week’s polling that will determine the winner of the Great Indie Bake Off. But we are pleased as punch to have been invited to participate, and to take our place with our Indie Games Development Breathern. Fight the power, baby — with cake!
Also, Noel Llopis, a friend of Appy and the evil genius behind Snappy Touch, has released his first App to the App Store! Tea Time! is a slick little App that lets you assign the perfect steeping time to your favorite variety of tea.

I expect our resident Englishman, Mr. Steven Sargent, will be giving this App a workout. Tea Time! is only $0.99, so mouse over the to App Store and buy it today … you’ll be helping to support a genuinely independent game developer, and a nice guy as well.
Now we’re off for some cake and (perfectly brewed) tea.

Sick cake … sucks you had to take the “DQ”, but I’m sure it was worth it for that fine piece of art.

Cheaters!
I remember making damn good cupcakes in my easy bake oven 20 years ago!
Cheers!

Hey, at least it’s a real cake. My first idea was to have Farzad carve an Appy shape out of foam and slap some icing on it.
Actually, my first idea was to photoshop it. We’re swine, what can I say?
We’ll be eating the cake after lunch down in the pub this afternoon — anyone within lunchtime range of Appy Entertainment Secret World Headquarters is welcome to join us for a piece.
