Normally we wouldn’t need a lot of encouragement to go see James Bond, Indiana Jones, flying saucers, and cowboys all blended up together in a frothy popcorn-flavored summer movie cocktail … after all, we’re the guys that made Darkwatch! But this week’s pending release of Cowboys & Aliens has a special connection to Appy Entertainment.

You see, Cowboys & Aliens is the brainchild of Scott Rosenberg’s Platinum Studios. Scott is a card-carrying Friend-of-Appy who gave Appy CEO Chris Ulm his first comic book job back in the day, so we feel some small sense of family pride as Scott’s comic book property comes to the big screen.

Chris and our Creative Visual Director, Farzad Varahramyan, are knocking off work early today to go see the movie up in L.A. at Scott’s invitation (lucky dogs), and we hope every Appy fan will follow their example and pack the multiplexes when Cowboys & Aliens stampedes into general release this weekend!
